WHO IS GABRIELA DUMITRU?

She was born in 1968 in Romania and continued her education in Romania. She met fencing at the age of 9. One of the remaining 2 students among the 36 students who are thought to be suitable for fencing at school is Gabriela Dumitru. She continued her sports life with school with the contribution of the Romanian State.

Although she saw fencing as an activity only at first, she continued uninterruptedly from 9 to 20. She won numerous medals during this period and played for the National Team for 7 years. She then had to take a break because of her marriage. In 1997, she came to Turkey. In 2003, at the insistence of a friend, she started dating again at Altınyurt Sports Club, and later started her life as an assistant coach in the same club. Since 2003, she has worked in many sports clubs and private schools without interruption, and has trained many successful athletes. In 2020, she continues to train at Atak Sports Club, where she is a founding member. She also works with Özyeğin University. In addition, as well as coaching, she still participates in "Veteran" tournaments as an athlete. For fencing, "Fencing has a very special place in my life. We realize our struggle on the track without realizing it in daily life. When we encounter a problem, we continue to fight without giving up. '' says. Korel Yıldız, Murat Bayraktar, Tan Sezer, Mert Kırdar and Ece Gizem Huriel are the most successful athletes of our coach Atak Sports Club, who also contributed to the training of many successful athletes in the clubs she worked for.
